Tips on Men Mouth Care

Many men might neglect oral care, but a good smile can make heads turn. Proper mouth care ensures a good smile, good breath and hygiene. Mouth care for men can be as simple as brushing twice daily and flossing daily. Doing this consistently can do wonders to your oral health. It can prevent gum diseases and keep you confident even as you smile.

Here are a few mouth care tips for men:

  • Brush twice daily with a paste containing fluoride. You can brush once before bedtime and once after waking up or after breakfast. Brushing cleans the debris, food particles and keeps you from bad breath
  • Floss once daily. Flossing removes the food particles present in between the teeth and the gum line. The debris can over time result in tooth decay. So, make sure you floss daily to keep your mouth clean
  • Avoid sticky or sugary foods. Sugary foods can stick to the teeth and can result in plaque and tooth decay
  • Avoid smoking. Smoking can put you at risk of gingivitis, periodontitis and also oral cancer. In the short term, it can also lead to bad breath and tooth stains. So, keep away from smoking for good breath and healthy teeth
  • Visit dentist regularly. Change in tooth color, chipped teeth, swollen gums, sores can be detected by the dentist. Early detection of a problem can help in proper treatment. Moreover, regular dental check ups can whiten your teeth. So, visit dentist at least twice a year for professional checkup and cleaning

A good oral care includes the following:

  • Teeth should be clean
  • Should not have bad breath
  • Gums should not bleed while brushing or flossing
